Empowering un-organized to attain social security

It is alleged that even after six decades of self rule in India and multiples of schemes and plans; the prevailing condition in the country is the rich become richer and the poor, poorer. It is not right to say that there is no progress or development; but the fact of the matter is most of the benefits, the government generate do not reach the last person in the society. The result; several hundreds of villages and tribal belt areas are still under the canopy of darkness, suffused with ignorance, illiteracy, superstitions, casteism, un-touchabilty, ill-health and poverty.

Education is the prime empowerment that can overcome all these evil forces. “Though there has been a growing realization among policy makers and planners, that development would never become self sustaining unless it was accompanied by the corresponding changes in the attitudes, values, knowledge and skills of the people as a whole and that the only way this changes can be accompanied is through education.”

Dr. Arthur Morgan (1878 to 1975) a great visionary of community development, contended that the two most fundamental social units are the FAMILY and the COMMUNITY. He argued that no human society can continue to exist with out some degree of mutual confident, good-will and brother-hood. In the light of above observations, the need in India today, especially in rural and remote areas, is to link firmly the community, education and development forays. In full adherence to above, this organization of ours-Human Organisation for People’s Enlightment-HOPE was started in 1992 by the group of like minded peoples from different walks of life, their prime motive being to empower the poor and illiterate, ignorant masses to attain self sustaining status with honour and dignity in the society. India lives in villages; hence any attempts to help Indian community must stem the grass-root level of the Special strata, for that is where, our poor and down trodden people live. With this in mind, our programmes in the field of EDUCATION, HEALTH AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT have spread over in 52 villages. In each village, there is a Village Advisory Committee to enact and supervise our programmes, quality Education, community health and women empowerment. Communities are cared through personal contact, special meetings, and community meetings. Communities are enthused through various trainings, cultural and communication programmes.

Our main concern and aim is to remove poverty, the imbalance prevailing in the society in terms of high and low dignity to human beings and also to elevate the poor lot from dependence status to independence.

Expected empowerment

HOPE IN 140

The kind of education we impart and self help fillip schemes and counseling, all put to-gather serve as tools of empowerment to make people realize their real worth, which in turn-will prompt them to work their way to success with great confidence and hope.

HOPE’s plans and modules are so designed that each community will work as a community, a united effort to solve their problems and to make available resources for the entire benefit of the entire community, thus enabling them to become self sufficient. Once the machinery the wheel of progress is set in motion, it will keep moving forward, and no question of turning back and fruits will be enjoyed by all.
